Wendee Rogerson (Owner and Teacher), was born in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. She began dance training at the age of three, and at the age of twelve she was a student at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and then at the Toronto Dance Theatre. As an adult, she moved to New York City to begin her professional dance career. She has danced with many different cheorographers over the years, Sue Bernhard, Alison Chase, Ze’eva Cohen, and Carl Flink. She has been a dancer/rehearsal coach with the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company for the past 12 years.
Wendee first became interested in fitness as it applied to dance technique, injury prevention and rehabilitation. She became an (A.C.E.) group fitness instructor in 2001 and began teaching throughout New York City. She has taught a variety of classes ranging from osteoporosis fitness classes to gliding, body conditioning, step and cardio circuit classes. In 2003, she became an (A.C.E.) personal trainer. In 2004, she received her Pilates certification through the Kelly Kane School of Core Integration. In 2009, she became certified in Aerial Yoga through Michelle Dortignac who teaches Unnata Aerial Yoga in New York City. Wendee has also studied under Eric Franklin of The Franklin Method and Tom Meyers of Anatomy Trains.
She is now officially certified as a Postural and Movement Analyst after completing the Anatomy Trains/Kinesis's 200 hour certified training in body restructuring and body realignment called Body Language.
Wendee has taught at the various locations in New York: 92nd St Y, Body Elite, Streamline Studios, Heights Casino, Boom Fitness and Mind Your Body. She is currently teaching in Portland, Maine over the winter of 2011/2012.
