Wendee Rogerson (Owner and Teacher)

-teaching June 25th - July 6th, July 24th  and    July 23rd, August 3rd

was born in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. She began dance training at the age of three, and at the age of twelve she was a student at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and then at the Toronto Dance Theatre. As an adult, she moved to New York City to begin her professional dance career. She has danced with many different cheorographers over the years, Sue Bernhard, Alison Chase, Ze’eva Cohen, and Carl Flink. She has been a dancer/rehearsal coach with the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company for the past 14 years.

Wendee first became interested in fitness as it applied to dance technique, injury prevention and rehabilitation. She became an (A.C.E.) group fitness instructor in 2001 and began teaching throughout New York City. She has taught a variety of classes ranging from osteoporosis fitness classes to gliding, body conditioning, step and cardio circuit classes. In 2003, she became an (A.C.E.) personal trainer.  In 2004, she received her Pilates certification through the Kelly Kane School of Core Integration. In 2009, she became certified in Aerial Yoga through Michelle Dortignac who teaches Unnata Aerial Yoga in New York City.  Wendee has also studied under Eric Franklin of The Franklin Method, Irene Dowd and Tom Meyers of Anatomy Trains.

She is also certified as a Postural and Movement Analyst after completing the Anatomy Trains/Kinesis's 200 hour certified training in body restructuring and body realignment called Body Language.

Wendee has taught at the various locations in New York: 92nd St Y, Body Elite, Streamline Studios, Heights Casino, Boom Fitness and Mind Your Body. She is currently teaching in Portland, Maine at Holistic Physical Therapy, Willard Beach Studio and Casco Bay Movers over the winter.

Wendee opened another studio in September 2016 in Scarborough, Maine. 

 

Louie Marin- will be teaching from July 9th - 20th, August 6th- 17th, August 27th - Sept 7th

Louie began his dance training in San Jose, CA. He was a scholarship student of the Martha Graham and Jennifer Muller/The Works Schools. He has been dancing with the Carolyn Dorfman dance company since 2009. Louie just recently retired from dancing in June and moved to Chattanooga, TN where he is starting his new adventure! For the past year Louie has been teaching at Scarborough Pilates. He is excited to be back to the island to teach again this summer.

Louie received his Pilates Mat and Apparatus certification from The Lab in Brooklyn, NY. He loves sharing his passion for Pilates. Louie believes that Pilates is the Technique to the Technique, there must be a balance of strength and flexibility in order to achieve maximum stability and grace.  

 

Natalie Green - will be teaching August 20th- 24th

Natalie Green is a professional dancer choreographer, pilates and yoga teacher based in Brooklyn, NY. She is certified through Kinected/The Kane School, Atmanadna Yoga, and the Laskshmi Voelker Chair Yoga program at Kripalu. She has also trained with Wendee Rogerson of Scarborough Pilates. Natalie's teaching style is fluid and light-hearted with an emphasis on spinal health, core coordination, efficiency of movement, proper anatomical alignment and mindful breath work. Natalie just finished studying with the amazing Leslie Powell in NYC! She currently just got back from a tour in Nova Scotia with Rebecca Lazier's Dance Company. We are exited to have her back for her third time at Scarborough Pilates and Island Pilates.
